Associate Pastor

Rev. Atef Samy

Rev. Atef Sami Barnaba is an associate pastor and the Director of The Potter’s Academy for Leadership Development, which is based in KDEC. Rev. Atef was born in Cairo, Egypt, where he currently lives. He was married to Dr. Salwa Sobhy.

 

Rev. Atef earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration in 1976. He then went on to earn another bachelor's degree in Theology in 1988. Finally, he obtained his Master’s in communication and Journalism from Wheaton, Illinois, in 1994.

 

His accomplishments in ministry have been compelling. He led the student work in Egypt for 18 years, from 1974 until 1992. Rev. Atef was among the founders of the national prayer movement in Egypt from 1984 to 1988. He has been an assistant pastor at KDEC since 1998. Starting in 2003, he served for 10 years as the director of Open Doors Egypt. Then, from 2013 until June 2016, he served as the Director of Outreach Ministries in KDEC.

 

In the last few decades, he has been an important pillar and figure in the community of KDEC.
